NEW 4K RESTORATION
With selected screening of Werner Herzog’s FITZCARRALDO

Directed by Les Blank
U.S., 1982
With Werner Herzog, Jason Robards Jr., Klaus Kinski, Claudia Cardinale, Mick Jagger
In English, Spanish, and German with English subtitles.
Approx. 95 min. DCP.

Cast members (Jason Robards Jr., Mick Jagger) drop like flies, a prop ship is trapped in the rapids, and director Werner Herzog makes impossible demands: a riveting account of the crazed shooting of FITZCARRALDO, with unhinged star Klaus Kinski, and Herzog haranguing hundreds of indigenous people to pull a 320-ton steamship over a small mountain. Anchored by an as-it-was-happening interview with Herzog himself, as he details his unflinching vision for a project that took four years to pull off. Restored in 4K resolution.

4K Restoration executive produced by Harrod Blank, restoration by Anthony Matt, audio restoration by Nick Bergh, color by Paul Cope, & new subtitles by Maureen Gosling.
